University of Tehran hosted one of the two laureates of the First edition of Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, Prof. Omar Yaghi, Co-Director of Kavli Energy Nano-science Institute.
According to the Public Relations Department of Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, the scientific meeting on Metal-Organic structures was held at Pardis Hall, University of Tehran on Saturday.
Prof. Ali Beitolahi, president of International Department of Nanotechnology Development, Prof. Morsali, faculty member of Tarbiat Modares University and Prof. Chi Yang, foreign guest of Mustafa (PBUH) Prize were also present at this meeting. University students also asked their questions from Prof. Yaghi at the end of the meeting.
This prominent scientist have made special material from combination of organic and inorganic compounds withstrong bonds that are able to produce crystalline materials capable of storage and separation of hydrogen, methane, carbon dioxide, water, volatile organics, peptides and proteins.
Also on Saturday, Tarbiat Modares University hosted the other laureate of Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, Professor Jacike Ying, Executive Director of the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology of Singapore.
This meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Riazuddin from Pakistan, Dr. Faizan from India, Dr. Seyed Mahdi Rezayat and some of the faculty members of Tarbiat Modares University at the Faculty of Basic Sciences.
Dr. Hossein Naderi Manesh, professor and faculty member of this university referred to the concurrency of Mustafa (pbuh) Prize Award Ceremony and the birthday of the Holy Prophet of Islam and the birthday of Jesus Christ and said, “Mohammad (PBUH) is the prophet of peace and kindness, despite the hardships he faced in the way of guiding and leading people, he never made a complaint to Allah.”
He added, “we hope that the winners of Mustafa (PBUH) Prize pursue the ethics of the Holy Prophet and promote the religious values and Islam.”
Naderi Manesh also read the biography of Professor Ying and stated, “Professor Ying is the first woman Muslim scholar to receive Mustafa (pbuh) Prize.
Concluding the meeting, Professor Ying described her research achievements in the field of nanotechnology and its applications in medicine and then answered questions of the present guests.
